I had an opportunity to do this once before, and for some reason didn't. The reason is clear now, I wasn't ready. The only way I believe you can stay quit is to do it for yourself. My first quit was good, but the reasons weren't. I fell.
I made some great friends in the January 06 group that never turned their backs or gave up on me. For that I am eternally grateful.

My second quit is where it needs to be, squarely on me. The October 06 group has been a lot of fun to be a part of.
It has been a very long road, one I at times questioned. Quitting is one of the hardest things I've ever done. You can't recognize the depth of an addiction until you let it go. It's a powerful one and the things your mind & body go through are frightening at times. The justifications & insane reasoning that try to draw you back in can be tremendous.
But eventually the fog clears & there is sweet freedom. The freedom that I've found in dealing with life, real life, without nicotine in my system is a wonderful feeling. I know that I am truly done this time, forever. That is something I shall cherish for the rest of my days.

God has blessed me & done some great work in my life, some of it through the very people I've met on this site.
I would like to thank Rayne, Gum, HISpower & Ken for keeping the door open & keeping faith in me when I didn't have any faith left.
I would also like to thank Penguin, Steevo70, Stacy, Jimbo & Lobo for kind words, wisdom & sometimes just the simple yet wonderful gift of laughter.

This site, when used like the tool it's meant to be, can be a place of strength for most anyone trying to quit the habit of dipping. The support displayed here at times is awe inspiring. Sometimes you have to wade thru a lot of stuff to find the real people that are here to help, but they are there. I pray that QS can remain a place for people to turn to when they are too weak to stand up against this addiction on their own.
